課程概述 |
區域經濟發展的研究係在探討如何解釋不同地理空間在經濟發展上所產生的不同及獨特的發展模式。本課程主要在介紹近來有關新興工業化國家(newly industrializing or industrialized countries, NICs)區域經濟發展的不同研究論述及取向，尤其著重討論在所謂全球化及強調技術創新的知識經濟時代以下，NICs產業發展及升級的背後驅動制度性因素及機制。本課程除幫助學生對後進國家經濟及產業發展模式有更深入的認識，並引導其省思目前台灣區域發展政策習慣套用先進國家及高科技發展思維的妥適性。而對於有興趣從事這個領域研究的學生，本課程同時可協助其找尋及發展研究主題。
本課程首先介紹NICs工業化及經濟發展理論，接著討論技術學習(learning)及創新(innovation)在現今區域經濟發展中的內涵；第二部分分析在NICs區域經濟發展研究中，常被討論的幾個重要的制度性(institutions)議題，包括了國家(state)的角色、產業群聚(industrial clusters)、全球生產網絡(global production networks)。第四部分則以實際的經驗案例討論來增進對不同產業部門的發展過程及機制的理解。

本課程採討論形式(seminar)上課，由教師與學生於課堂中針對每週之主題及讀物進行密集討論。修課學生(1)於每週課前閱讀至少二篇讀物 ；(2)帶領至少一次課堂討論；(3)期末(6/30前)繳交一份研究報告(約20頁) |
